Threat alleged in church feud
ATHENS—The newly appointed abbot of a monastery locked in a 33-year dispute with Greece’s Orthodox Church said he was threatened by four masked men Wednesday and sprayed in the face with Mace.
It was the latest incident involving rival monks at the rebel Esphigmenou Monastery at the Orthodox sanctuary of Mount Athos – the self-governing peninsula in northern Greece where women are forbidden from entering.

The Prime-News was told at the Patriarchy of Georgia that regarding the day the Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II would deliver church service in Cathedral of Saint Trinity on Monday.
